35th Season of Music Under the Stars Seeking Musicians

The City of El Paso Museums and Cultural Affairs Department (MCAD) is now accepting applications for Music Under the Stars, the City’s annual free summer concert series.

“Music Under the Stars is a summertime tradition with so many El Paso families, and we are proud to present these free concerts as part of the city’s commitment to enhancing El Paso’s quality of life,” said MCAD Production and Marketing Coordinator Ismael Acosta. “The city and its partners work to put together a diverse line-up of music from around the Southwest and the country that we hope everyone will enjoy.”

Music Under the Stars is a free outdoor concert series held between the months of June and July in collaboration with the National Park Service at the Chamizal National Memorial and El Paso Live at Cohen Stadium.

Entering into its 35th season, the event is host to local, regional and national musicians of various musical genres.

Interested musicians may complete an application and submit samples of their work online. For more information, call the Museums and Cultural Affairs Department at (915) 212-1777.

The application period will be open through November 20.

Free Arts Programming Available to El Paso Community

Each year, the Museum and Cultural Affairs Department provides direct funding to area teaching artists and non-profit organizations to provide programming throughout the city through the Community Arts Program (CAP).

“CAP connects teaching artists to our community and brings the arts into the classroom and public spaces,” said Rebecca Muñoz, Cultural Development Coordinator.

CAP offers a variety of workshops and performances led by local artists including music, dance, writing and visual art that are appropriate for different age groups.

All CAP services are free! Services are available to area non-profits, schools, libraries and free community events. A catalog of services is available at under the Arts Funding
