New York Comic Con
New York Comic Con (NYCC) was nice enough to grant me a press pass. I grabbed my camera and fly to the Big Apple to check out one of the big 5 Comic Cons in the USA.
The New York Comic Con is an annual New York City fan convention dedicated to comics, graphic novels, anime, manga, video games, toys, movies, and television. It was first held in 2006.
Attendance for this event has steadily grown every year. In 2015 it was estimated nearly 170,000 attendees were at NYCC. As you can imagine this caused a large line of people waiting to get inside the Javits Center. There was a throng of pop culture enthusiasts everywhere you looked.
Some of the events had to be held off-site due to space constraints. Some amazing panels were held at the Theater at Madison Square Garden. The Theater at Madison Square Garden is located at on 7th Ave. between 31st and 33rd Streets. The Theater at Madison Square Garden is where they held celebrity panels, one of a kind Q&A’s, and an exclusive first look at the hottest films and television shows. This continues New York Comic Con’s expansion into the City to bring you exciting and unique content all across Manhattan during New York Comic Con. A valid NYCC Badge for the specific day of the panel(s) you’d like to see is required.
NYCC Presents will keep the party going in New York City by bringing passionate fans to various venues all over Manhattan and Brooklyn such as the Hammerstein Ballroom, Hudson Mercantile, Rock Bar NYC, and Littlefield. NYCC Presents will have dozens of events including: live podcasts, gaming challenges, screenings, concerts, dance parties, and more.
NYCC had something for everyone. Wear comfortable shoes because you will be doing a LOT of walking to see it all. If you are a fan of Comic Cons you should place this one on your bucket list.
