Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Announces Eight More New Temples

Earlier this year, with the help of Robert Dinsmoor, I wrote about Temples within the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Last October, during General Conference, President Russell M. Nelson announced the building of twelve new Temples, all over the world.

When President Nelson announced the construction of those twelve Temples, that was the most to be announced at one time, until Sunday, when eight new Temples were announced:

 Pago Pago, American Samoa
 Okinawa City, Okinawa
 Neiafu, Tonga
 Tooele Valley, Utah
 Moses Lake, Washington
 San Pedro Sula, Honduras
 Antofagasta, Chile
 Budapest, Hungary

Additionally, just days ago, Kuwait officially recognized the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The Church now joins a growing number of Christian congregations found in Kuwait.

“We are grateful to the Government of Kuwait and in particular to His Highness, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al -Sabah, Emir of Kuwait, for his exemplary leadership in allowing freedom of worship in the State of Kuwait, in particular for the expatriate workforce,” said Bishop Terry Harradine, leader of the Kuwait Congregation.

“We appreciate the assistance and guidance of the Kuwait Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs for their assistance in promoting religious tolerance within the country.”

Also during this week’s General Conference, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints released their 2018 Statistical Report, which I’ve included below as a reference.
