The City of El Paso Environmental Services Department (ESD) invites the public the 21st annual Road-E-O event on Saturday, May 6, at 8 a.m. at the Municipal Service Center located at 7968 San Paulo.

The ESD Collection Division holds the competition every year for large equipment drivers. The competition consists of driving 18-wheelers (Tractor-Trailers), Rear Loaders, Side Loaders (ASL’s) and Front Loaders through a variety of obstacle courses.

The contest challenges drivers to keep their skills current while building teamwork among the division.

The theme of this year’s competition is “Tots N Trucks” and the ESD will kick-off the event by honoring Jackson Toomey, age 3, and Jovany Olvera, age 6.

The City of El Paso’s Television station, CITYTV, featured both boys in the “Your City in 5” show for their love of collection trucks.  The stories featuring both boys may be found in the following links: Jovany Olvera and Jackson Toomey.

The winners of the Road-E-O competition will go on to compete in the state completion in June, where they will represent the Environmental Services Department and El Paso.
