Renowned Jewish scholar presents on importance of Chagall’s work

The El Paso Museum of Art is pleased to host Susan Goodman, Senior Curator Emeritus of New York’s Jewish Museum, for a free lecture on Marc Chagall at 6 p.m. on  Thursday, November 12, 2015, in EPMA’s El Paso Energy Auditorium.

Goodman, who has spent much of her professional life studying the art of Marc Chagall, will share her insights on the wide-ranging geographical and artistic travels of this imaginative and colorful artist. She will also explore the context in which The Green Violinist was created. The Green Violinist is on loan to the El Paso Museum of Art from the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum through January 29, 2015.

Goodman has authored and edited a number of books and essays, including her most recent, Chagall: Love, War, and Exile. The program is free and open to the public. However, space in the El Paso Energy Auditorium is limited to 220 people.

This lecture is made possible in part by a generous donation from Kirk and Judy Robison in support of the Modern Masters Series: Highlights from the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum. A book signing in the Museum Store will follow the lecture.
