Video+Story: TNTM’s Kinda spoilery review of HAPPY! Season 2 Episode 8

Season 2 of Happy ended on a really good note. All the different story-lines got tied up all nice and neat. They even segued perfectly into Season 3.

Sonny got his Easter extravaganza on air with the help of Orcus. Sonny was oblivious to the fact that Orcus was plotting his demise on national TV. Orcus was also using Smoothie to have Sonny murdered. Smoothie groomed Hailey to do the murder as his plot for revenge on Nick.

Nick was able to overcome the drugs Smoothie used to incapacitate him. Nick dove in front of the bullet Hailey fired to kill Sonny. Then Hailey’s mom killed Sonny, thus preventing her from becoming a murderer (unless you count Nick). Nick ended up dying from the bullet, but Orcus intercepted him on his way to the big orgy in the sky.

Orcus talked Nick into going back to life in order to exact revenge upon Smoothie (in exchange for working for Orcus).

The season finale was a great way to end a season that had so many subplots. We also got to have Jeff Goldblum as God, nice touch. SYFY recently announced they would not be picking up Happy for a season 3. Let’s hope someone nabs that license. I can’t wait to see a Halloween version of Happy!

We have also added a Google Voice number where you can call and leave us your thoughts.  If they are good, we will use them on the show.  The number is (575) 323-1332.

Video+Story: TNTM’s Kinda spoilery review – SYFY’s HAPPY! Season 2 Episode 8

Smoothie has sunk his claws deep into Hailey. He has turned her completely against her parents. Smoothie is programming Hailey to be an assassin for him.

This helps Smoothie out on so many levels. He gets to please Orcus, He gets rid of Sonny Shine, and most of all he gets revenge on Nick.

Amanda’s water breaks and Orcus gets her to the hospital with the Wishees in tow.

Nick get caught in one of Smoothie’s traps and is arrested. Of course they beat the crap out of him. McCarthy does some unspeakable stuff to get him out of jail. They team up again to go after Smoothie and save Hailey.

Some of the weirdness is starting to make sense. Now we know the Wishees are like minions of Orcus. We know that Sonny blackmailed his way into his position. We know that Amanda is pregnant with a Wishee baby. The only thing I am not sure of yet, is why is Happy still around if Hailey doesn’t believe in him any more? Hopefully that will be explained before end of the season.

Are you still liking Happy!? Is it just enough weird to keep you watching? Or have you tuned out on this show? Let us know in the comments.

We have also added a Google Voice number where you can call and leave us your thoughts.  If they are good, we will use them on the show.  The number is (575) 323-1332.

Video+Story: TNTM’s Kinda spoilery review of HAPPY! Season 2 Episode 7

Episode 7 is a roller coaster ride of weirdness. Nick kidnaps his ex-wife, who is pregnant. We don’t know who impregnated her yet, it is kinda hard to tell in the middle of a latex orgy.

Orcus and Sonny want her back since she is instrumental to both of their Easter plans. Although, their plans differ just a bit from each other.

Hailey is upset that her parents are keeping things from her. That is the final straw that breaks her and she runs to Smoothie as she views him as the only one being truthful to her.

Meanwhile, Happy is being taught the facts of life by Bo Peep. Happy is kinda clingy afterwards and Bo Peep takes off.

Can’t wait to see how the Wishees tie in to all of this weirdness. They have already established a connection between them and Orcus throughout history. They have obviously been grooming Sonny Shine to be the sacrificial lamb for him for quite some time. Really interested to see how they bring this season to a close.

We have also added a Google Voice number where you can call and leave us your thoughts.  If they are good, we will use them on the show.  The number is (575) 323-1332.

Video+Story: TNTM Kinda spoilery review of SYFY’s HAPPY! Season 2 Episode 6

Happy just keeps getting weirder by the episode. This wasn’t our favorite episode, but it was still better than most of the drivel that is on TV nowadays.

In this episode we get to see what happens when you try to torture a Wishee. We also get to witness Happy becoming a man. Pay attention to the bar scene. The Smoking Man Baby is voiced by none other than, Weird Al Yankovic!

Smoothie also drives the wedge deeper between Hailey and her parents. Oh yea, Nick finally finds out that Smoothie is still alive… and is he surprised!

I can’t imagine Hailey escaping this holiday with her mental facilities in check. That poor girl is being put through the wringer at school and at home.

We still recommend watching Happy as it is so different from every other show on TV right now. Big thanks to Grant Morrison for creating this world for us to enjoy.

If you agree with us say so in the comments! If you don’t agree with us, tell us why we’re wrong!

Video+Story: TNTM’s Kinda spoilery review SYFY’s HAPPY! Season 2 Episode 5

This week is mostly Nick running around tripping balls. He is hallucinating like crazy and is walking around with no pants on. He eventually buys some fishnet stockings, which is a disturbing picture in itself.

We also see Sonny Shine beat Dayglow Doug to death with his own golden microphone. We also get a sneak peek at all the blackmail tapes Sonny has in his collection. He has some high powered names in there so it is no wonder he gets what he wants done.

We see Orcus/Scaramucci’s story-line get interesting. Orcus is taking over the prison. Scaramucci wants to rid himself of Orcus and begs his cellmate to kill him.

This is definitely not one of our favorite episodes. We are still trying to piece together what exactly the pink “Patrick Starfish” looking creatures are and what they have to do with Sonny. Hoping we find out sooner rather than later.

We have also added a Google Voice number where you can call and leave us your thoughts.  If they are good, we will use them on the show.  The number is (575) 323-1332.

Video: TNTM’s HAPPY! Season 2 Episode 3 & 4 Kinda spoilery Review

We got caught up this past week running El Paso Comic Con so we are doing a review of two episodes together in order to get caught up.

Happy! episodes 3 and 4 see a lot of Nick breaking his promises. We also learn how Sonny Shine got his show. Smoothie makes some progress becoming Hailey’s friend. But most importantly…. we learn that Sonny Shine is hung like a horse!

Do you agree with us on our assessment of Happy so far? Let us know in the comments.

We have also added a Google Voice number where you can call and leave us your thoughts.  If they are good, we will use them on the show.  The number is (575) 323-1332.

Video+Info: SyFy’s ‘Happy’ Season 2 Episode 2 review – a little spoilerish

Episode 2 sees our friend, Nick Sax, fail horribly at keeping his promises at staying straight and sober. It all starts when his ex-wife can’t block the visions of what happened to her in season 1.

She drops Hailey off with Nick unexpectedly. He is not prepared for a day with her. Mostly because there are human organs in his fridge that he plans to sell.

Nick leans on Happy for advice on what to do with Hailey. After her traumatic kidnap experience in season 1 she hasn’t been able to see her imaginary friend. Happy suggests they go to build a bear. Hailey is bored out of her mind which goes to prove she has outgrown Happy.

Nick takes her to see horses at an Off Track Betting (OTB) business. They start by betting imaginary money on horses. Realizing it was a bad move, Nick leaves with Hailey only to be confronted by someone that threatens his family if he doesn’t pull a job for him.

Long story short, Nick ends up killing a lot of people with Hailey in the car. She seems okay with it as long as he is truthful with her, which he isn’t. He doesn’t want to corrupt her with his lifestyle.

This episode carries on with the wacky humor and over the top gore. There’s just something about an imaginary friend chastising you as you commit unspeakable crimes. Oh yea, the Sonny Shine/Smoothie story line gets a little creepier also. Can’t wait to see where this season ends up.

Did you enjoy episode 2 as much as us? Do you like Happy even though you can’t explain why? Let us know in the comments.

Video+Info: TNTM Reviews SyFy’s ‘Happy’ Season 2 Episode 1 (a little spoiler-ish)

The first season of Happy on SyFy was a pleasant surprise for me. All the previews looked really silly and didn’t do much to capture my interest.

On a whim, I decided to give the first episode a view.

All I can say is WOW!

I immediately binged the whole first season. I learned that Grant Morrison was one of the creators of the show and it all made sense. I told everyone I know to watch Happy. The interaction between Patton Oswalt(Happy) and Christopher Meloni(Nick Sax) just seems to work so well.

If you didn’t watch Season 1 let me get you up to speed. Chris Meloni is an ex-cop that has a drug, alcohol, and violence problem. His daughter ends up being abducted by a weird villain called “Very Bad Santa”. He has connections to the bigger bad guys “Smoothie” and “Sonny Shine”. Nick’s daughter has an imaginary friend named Happy. Happy seeks out Nick to help him rescue her. For some reason, Nick is an adult that can see and talk to imaginary friends. If that sounds weird… it gets better. That is enough to give you the where and how about Happy. For more you’ll just have to watch season 1 for yourself.

So, at the end of Season 1 Nick is reunited with his ex-wife and daughter. He wants to have a relationship with his daughter so he pledges to clean up his act. Season 2 starts with Nick stopping drinking, drugging, and whoring. He even gets a steady job, albeit as a cab driver. The first episode does a good job of setting up Nick’s internal conflict of his past life and his desire to be a better man and father. We also learn that Smoothie and Sonny Shine are still around and up to no good. Looks like season 2 will be just as twisted and enjoyable as the first season. Thank you , Grant Morrison.

Did you watch Happy? Did you enjoy it as much as we did? Or did you think it was just meh? Let us know in the comments.

Audio: SyFy Faceoff SFX Make Up Artist Walter Welsh Interview

Walter Welsh was born and raised in a small town where he grew up around sports, cars, and motorcycles.

He always had a passion for movies, science fiction and art. He went from basketball coach to college football athlete to competitive bodybuilding to portrait painting … and now to special effects.

He thinks he has finally found what he loves by creating monsters and painting works of art that come to life. He is a two time runner-up on the popular SyFy show “Face Off” (seasons 10 and 13).  Walter’s special effects make ups have been some of the best on the show each time he was a contestant.

We were able to get Walter to tell us about how his past led him to his current career as a special effects artist.  He tells us how it was working those long hours on Face Off that were edited down to mere minutes for the show.

Video: TNTM Interview with Cas Anvar

We had the privilege of speaking with Cas Anvar via phone about his roles in SyFy’s “The Expanse” and FX’s “The Strain”.

Official Bio

Cas Anvar, whose career has skyrocketed in the past year with a starring role on SyFy Network’s hit new #1 series The Expanse and a choice role in the Oscar nominated feature, ROOM, is on a career trajectory most actors dream of.

Halfway through filming the second season of Alcon Entertainment’s flagship show, his role of the galaxy’s top pilot, ‘Alex Kamal,’ has been expanded on the network’s most expensive original show in the history of SyFy earning him star status in an ensemble which includes Thomas Jane, Shohreh Agadashloo, Steven Strait, Wes Chatham and Dominique Tipper.

The popular series has just begun shooting season 3 which is expected to premiere on SyFy late 2017-early 2018..

Cas returns on the fourth and final season of FX’s critically lauded, The Strain, which currently airs on Sundays at 10PM night and premiered on July 16th to phenomenal numbers. Cas’ recurring role of “Sanjay Desai,” an opportunistic young businessman eager to place himself in a protected position amidst the chaos of the predominant story line of the inhabitants rapidly falling to an evil epidemic.

The Strain hails from showrunner/executive producer/writer Carlton Cuse, along with co-creators/executive producers/writers Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan. Gary Ungar, J. Miles Dale, Bradley Thompson, David Weddle and Regina Corrado serve as executive producers. FX Productions is the studio. Few know the series is shot on the same soundstage at The Expanse (when the SyFy show is on hiatus).

The Canadian-born actor and voice-over star who graduated from Montreal’s prestigious National Theatre School (Canada’s Julliard) first came to popular attention for his portrayal of Kambiz Foroohar in the Cruise/Wagner film Shattered Glass, nominated for 4 Spirit Awards and a Golden Globe.

Cas’ versatility on the big screen ranges from roles opposite Ben Affleck in the Oscar winning feature film Argo (garnering a SAG “Outstanding Performance” Award), Jake Gyllenhaal in the Sci-Fi adventure Source Code, John Cusak in the suspense thriller The Factory, and co-starring in Steven Spielberg’s The Terminal opposite Tom Hanks, Catherine Zeta Jones and Stanley Tucci.

Guest TV appearances include CBS’ hit NCIS: LA and Intelligence, USA network’s In Plain Sight, TNT’s Leverage, Fox’s 24, ABC’s Castle, co-hosting PBS 2015 Christmas special to resounding critical acclaim and as the lead character in SyFy’s 2015 series, Olympus. He is a favorite on the talk show circuit for his exceptional anecdotes and impeccable delivery.

An accomplished stage actor, Anvar has played countless leading roles in Shakespeare’s most famous plays. Cas, highly respected as the Founding Artistic Director for over 18 years of the acclaimed Shakespeare-in-the-Park touring company – Montreal-based Repercussion Theatre – continues to support their work with frequent visits.

The fluently trilingual (English, French and Farsi) Anvar credits part of his wide-ranging creativity to his exotic cultural and spiritual heritage. He splits his time between Toronto and Los Angeles.
