Anthony Rotich secured his second Conference USA Male Cross Country Athlete of the Week award this year and the men’s team was bumped up to No. 11 in the country in the United States Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association poll on Tuesday.
The men’s team knocked off 10th-ranked Georgetown on their way to a fourth-place finish at Pre Nationals. In Louisville, the field was loaded with 42 teams and 11 of them were ranked in the USTFCCCA top 30.
The Kenyan native clocked a blazing 8K time of 23:23.5 to finish an impressive third overall in a field including 288 of the nation’s elite runners. Rotich is the most glorified Conference USA Athlete of the Week ever with 13 awards (cross country only).
