Jack must have not slept well because he was very cynical of most of the upcoming movies. On the other hand, I enjoyed Green Lantern and the Ben Affleck Daredevil movie. Keep this in mind when going over our lists.
Spider-man has many epic and iconic villains in his rogues gallery. Venom is undoubtedly one of the most popular.
Peter Parker got the black symbiote suit in Secret Wars #8. It took some time for him to figure out it was an alien lifeform. It had bonded with Peter’s mind and knew he wanted to be rid of the symbiote. This made it cling harder to Peter. It took some help from Reed Richards of the Fantastic Four and a sonic wave blasting gun to remove the symbiote.
The symbiote disguised itself as one of Peter’s normal red & blue suits and was able to bond to him again. This time Peter gets church bells to create enough sound to break the bond.
Feeling rejected, the symbiote searches for a new host and finds Eddie Brock. Eddie was about to commit suicide when the symbiote bonded with him. Bonding with Brock makes the symbiote turn more violent and aggressive. This is when the symbiote adopted the name of Venom. Eddie and the symbiote felt betrayed by Peter, so they set out to get revenge.
Venom has been an enemy and ally of Spider-man. Others have bonded with the symbiote: Deadpool, Superior Spider-man, and Flash Thompson to name a few. There have been other mutations of the symbiote too. Carnage is an offspring of the Venom symbiote. The Life Foundation extracted five seeds from the Venom symbiotes and created Scream, Riot, Phage, Agony, and Lasher. There have been many others, but these are the main ones.
Tom Hardy has been cast to play Venom in the movie adaption. He is a very good choice to play the unpredictable insanity that is Venom. We’re gonna see this one on opening night.
Marvel reverses their fortunes in November. The Top 10 for November makes it look even between Marvel and DC Comics. If you expand your view out to the top 100 a different story is apparent.
Marvel has shook off their performance of the past few months and is the dominant publisher for the month of November. They have a majority of the sales in November. Even though Marvel is back on top, DC Comics has the top 2 spots overall with Batman #10 & #11. In fact, all of DC Comics top 10 titles were Batman related.
DC Comics is leaning heavily on Bruce Wayne right now. Marvel relied heavily on new titles for their top 10. Invincible Iron Man #1, Amazing Spider-man:Renew Your Vows #1, Venom #1 and IVX (Inhumans vs X-men) #0 were all in the top 10 for Marvel.
Their only non-new title was Civil War II #7. The only title not from the big 2 publishers was Walking Dead #160 from Image Comics.
