Clinic, Humane Society Partner to Help Vets Adopt Pre-Screened Dogs for Service Animal Use

El Paso-area veterans will be given an opportunity to adopt pre-screened dogs from the Human Society of El Paso on Friday, October 27.

The special adoptions will be held from 1 P.M. TO 4 P.M. at the Steve A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at Family Endeavors located at 1390 George Dieter Drive #140. The El Paso MFC has partnered with the Humane Society of El Paso for this special program.

Upon adoption, the Veterans and dogs will be provided with a tailored 12-week obedience training course that will prepare them for the Public Access Certification Test at no cost to the Veteran.

These dogs will perform a critical function for our Veterans as registered Service Dogs upon completion of the course provided by Military Family Clinic at Family Endeavors.

Additionally, the Steve A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at Family Endeavors will provide Veterans and our community with the proper education regarding the Service Dogs under the American, with Disabilities Act, Title II and III, and Texas Title 8, “Rights and Responsibilities of Persons with Disabilities.”
