The Hospitals of Providence are slipping on their walking shoes and kicking off this year’s “Healthy Over Hungry” Cereal Drive with a community awareness Walk for Cereal on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 9:00 am at Providence Children’s Hospital, 2001 N. Oregon.
This short, 1-mile walk is a sure way to bring the community together to learn the important facts about hunger in our region.
The “Healthy Over Hungry” Cereal Drive’s goal is to provide enough cereal to feed breakfast to area children that depend on the school’s system for nutrition during the summer months. The Walk for Cereal is a kick-off to the “Healthy Over Hungry” Cereal Drive and will be complemented with free refreshments, kids’ entertainment, and music. Tool kits and instructions on how organizations can get involved will be provided.
“We are eager to bring in local organizations to learn more about the Healthy Over Hungry Drive campaign in this fun and interactive way.” said Sally Hurt-Deitch, CEO of The Hospitals of Providence Memorial Campus. “The gracious community and organization involvement will ensure that we meet our goal of ensuring that NO child goes hungry this summer.”
