Wet-N-Wild Waterworld Teams Up with ‘Size North America’ for Body Measurement Study

Human Solutions has launched the first representative anthropometric serial measurement survey in the United States and Canada, and Wet-n-Wild Waterworld is participating in the survey.

The serial measurement survey, “Size NorthAmerica” is the most extensive measurement survey project on the North American continent to date.

The project aims to develop current and representative dimensions for the automotive and apparel industry.

From July 30 through August 12, the mobile scan trailer will be located at the waterpark in Anthony, operating every day from 11-6pm.  For residents willing to participate in the survey, they’ll be rewarded for their time with a ticket to Wet-N-Wild.

3D body scanners capture up-to-date body measurements in various postures and the acquired data will subsequently be prepared for the requirements of the automotive and apparel industry.

For the first time, a systematic survey of children from the age of 6 and up will be included in a survey of this size. Body measurements, dimensions, proportions, and demographic data of more than 17,000 men, women and children will be collected.

“The large-scale serial measurement program in the United States and Canada will enable us to determine the changes in the body measurements and proportions of the North American population. Based on the data acquired, we’ll process the current body dimension statistics for the requirements of the automotive and apparel industry”, says Andre Luebke, General Manager of Human Solutions of North America, Inc. d/b/a Assyst

“The Size NorthAmerica serial measurement survey will provide us with relevant information on safety, handling and comfort for product development in the automotive industry. We enable apparel manufacturers to analyze body measurements and assign current body proportions to company-specific size tables – allowing them to optimize their sizing concept.”

The serial measurement survey of children and juveniles is also a point of focus, as is the updating of measurement tables for adults. A special survey for the age group between 6 and 17 years has never taken place until now in North America.

Children’s size tables currently used are related to datasets from 1930 to 1970.

Via a news release, officials with Human Solutions added, “People change – and precise knowledge of the human body shape is indispensable for the development of vehicles and apparel. Body measurements and proportions, and the demographic structure have changed significantly over the last decades.”

Wet-N-Wild Waterworld’s Newest Attraction Set to Open Thursday

Wet N Wild Waterworld has completed construction, testing, and inspection of Jaguar Falls, the largest attraction in the family-owned waterpark’s 38-year history, and it is now ready to ride.

“This project represents a huge investment in our guests and our community! We have been working non-stop on this ride since the winter, and we are thrilled to finally open it to our guests,” says Chandra Edwards Cottingham, one of the family owners of the water park.

Edwards Cottingham adds, “The suspense has been building since we announced the new ride, and we have revealed facts and details of Jaguar Falls to our customers week by week through our very popular Facebook contests. They are all now Jaguar Falls experts, and we can’t wait for them to try it out!”

The Jaguar Falls complex has a footprint of over 42,750 square feet and includes a six-story tower with room to add more rides in the future.

After climbing the ninety-five steps to the tower, guests will enter the raft with family and friends and experience thousands of gallons of water per minute twisting and turning them down the slide at speeds up to 25 feet per second!

The ride ends with an exhilarating splashdown into a refreshing catch pool.

The family-friendly Jaguar Falls, located between the Amazon and Alien Vortex, crosses over the park’s main entry drive, providing an eye-catching yellow, black and green promise of fun.

According to park officials, “Two to four people (500 lbs max, 300 lbs max per person) can ride together in a raft at the same time! And there won’t be any worries about dragging those rafts all the way to the top of the ride tower –a speedy raft conveyor will whisk the rafts from the pool to the entry tub in record time.”

Adding to the adventure, and keeping with the jungle theme, after splashing down into the catch pool, park guests will make their way back to the Jaguar Falls complex via a 58.8-foot rope suspension bridge swaying high above the ground.

Construction on the project involved thousands of work hours from architects, contractors, and other skilled workers and includes hundreds of tons of concrete, steel and fiberglass, as well as multiple slide components shipped from different parts of the world.

This new addition has allowed the park to provide temporary work for dozens of people and several new seasonal job openings on top of the 300 positions it fills every summer from April to September.
