Animal Services Hosts “Flash Fall Sale” as Shelter Reaches Capacity

With Animal Services reaching its capacity as of Monday evening with more than 500 animals at the shelter, the department is holding a “Flash Fall Sale” to help place loving pets in great homes.

Starting Tuesday, October 24, through Monday, October 30, adoption fees for all shelter pets will be reduced to just $5, or free with the donation of any of the items listed below.

In order to reduce the shelter population, Animal Services will reduce adoption fees whenever the facility is at capacity in hopes of adopting many of the animals currently in their care.

While this practice happens often during the busy summer months, there are also other times of the year where the population will increase over 500, prompting a reduced adoption fee event.

ITEMS NEEDED:

  • Dog and cat toys
  • Towels and blankets (new or used)
  • Dog and puppy food
  • Cat and kitten food
  • Wire kennels
  • Plastic carriers

In addition to the animals already being spayed or neutered, all adopted pets will also have their age-appropriate vaccinations, microchip, and City license.

WHEN:   Tuesday, October 24 – Monday, October 30
