This week, officials with Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso have a special Mighty Mujer edition of Tech Table Talk, featuring an all-female panel in celebration of Women’s History Month, streaming live on Wednesday, March 24.
Panelists will discuss preparing for the 2021 Mighty Mujer Triathlon, setbacks caused by injury or the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, and stress management tips for women trying to stay active while bearing numerous responsibilities.
Organizers say that other topics include heart disease, exercise during menopause and medical tests women should ask their doctors about.
The fourth edition of the virtual discussion series will be hosted by Gabriela Gallegos, Mighty Mujer Triathlon founder and race director. She will be joined by:
- Anjana Nair, M.D., physician in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Texas Tech Physicians of El Paso and assistant professor at TTUHSC El Paso.
- Chenai Nettey, M.D., fellow with TTUHSC El Paso’s Department of Family and Community Medicine’s Sports Medicine fellowship program.
- Patricia Ortiz, M.D., physician in the Department of Psychiatry at TTP El Paso and assistant professor at TTUHSC El Paso.
- Angelika Raines, CRNA, Mighty Mujer Athlete, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist.
The discussion will stream live from TTUHSC El Paso’s Facebook page, and viewers can submit questions during the event.
