On Monday, El Paso Catholic Schools were notified that the Texas Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Teacher of the Year award would be awarded to one of their own.
To kick off Catholic Schools Week – Sunday, January 26 through Saturday, February 1, school officials announced that Erika Delgado, 5th grade teacher at St. Joseph’s Catholic School, was selected as the Texas Conference of Catholic Bishops 2020 Teacher of the year.
“Catholic Schools are proud to continue our 100-plus years of sustained legacy of talent and leadership contributions to the Borderplex region,” school officials shared.
In addition to Monday’s honor, Delgado was also previously named the Diocese of El Paso’s 2019 Teacher of the Year.
The Diocese of El Paso has operated schools in the region for over 100 years, now with 11 schools and serving over 4000 students throughout the city.
