Texas Country Music Fest steps into El Paso County Coliseum

The Texas Country Music Fest is coming to El Paso, officials announced Monday afternoon.

The festival, which will feature some of the biggest names in country music, will take over the El Paso County Coliseum, 4100 E. Paisano, at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25. It is considered a key stop on the Texas country music circuit.

Multi-platinum award-winner Tracy Lawrence will open, while the popular Josh Abbott Band will headline. Texas standout Wade Bowen also will perform.

Lawrence, who has won awards from the Country Music Association and the Association of Country Music, has had 22 songs reach Billboard’s Top Ten charts with 18 No. 1 singles, selling more than 13 million albums. Lawrence has helped shape the sound of country music for two decades behind hit songs such as, “Time Marches on,” “Alibis,” “Find Out Who Your Friends Are,” “Lie” and “Blacktop.”

The Josh Abbott Band has become one of the leading acts in Texas music, landing three singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, including “Oh, Tonight,” featuring Grammy Award- winning singer Kacey Musgraves.

The band released the chart-topping album “Small Town Family Dreams” in 2012, the hit EP “Tuesday Night” in 2014 and the soaring “Front Row Seat” in 2015.

Bowen, who has five independent albums, has amassed a string of regional hits and awards. The Texas Country Music Fest also will include the Patio Pre-Party, featuring some of the best food trucks in town, fun family-friendly activities and live music.

Tickets, which will cost $29, $39, $49 and $65, plus fees, go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, at the El Paso County Coliseum Box Office, all Ticketmaster outlets, by phone at 800-745-3000 and online.

A special pre-sale will take place from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 25, using the code AMNESIA.
