Texas Society of Architects to hold 2022 Annual Conference, Design Expo in El Paso

Visit El Paso and the El Paso Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), announced Thursday that the Texas Society of Architects (TxA) will hold its Annual Conference and Design Expo here in the Sun City.

“We are thrilled to announce that El Paso will be host to TxA in 2022. This group hasn’t been to El Paso since 1977 and we are excited to reintroduce them to our rich history and extraordinary hospitality and we are well prepared to do just that.  Our goal is to unmask our vibrant city, historical and stunning architecture ultimately inspiring them to add a little bit of El Paso flair to their future projects.” said Brooke Underwood, Assistant General Manager for Visit El Paso.

The event is TxA’s largest annual event that will attract over 3000 Architects, Design Professionals and Vendors to El Paso in 2022 and will contribute to over 1200 room nights and an estimated $2,700,000 in economic impact to the City.

“El Paso is a city that embraces its history, but also has eyes on the future.  The ongoing revitalization of the city’s downtown was a huge incentive in our decision to bring our conference here, and we appreciate the adaptive re-use of historic buildings so that a good deal of the fabric and culture of the downtown area has been maintained.” said James Perry, Executive Vice President and CEO of Texas Society of Architects.

The Conference and Design Expo will be held at the El Paso Convention Center while other events and educational sessions will be held at downtown venues including the Plaza Theatre and Arts Festival Plaza.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in over 30 different tours throughout El Paso and the region. In the evenings, attendees will be free to enjoy the downtown nightlife scene – exploring the restaurants and bars while taking in the beautiful historic architecture of downtown El Paso.

The event will run from October 25 through 29, 2022.
