CITY of EL PASO
City Hall and all administrative offices will be closed on Thursday, November 26, 2015 in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.
City administrative offices will operate under normal hours, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, Thanksgiving week. City Hall will resume regular business hours at 7 a.m. on Monday, November 30, 2015.
The following services and programs will be closed on Thanksgiving:
Animal Services Shelter
Citizen Collection Stations (CCS)
Greater El Paso Landfill
El Paso Museums (Archaeology, Art, History)
Parks and Recreation Facilities
Public Health Facilities (clinics, labs)
Public Library Branches
No Garbage/Recycling Collection – Thursday collection will be on Saturday, November 28

SCHOOL DISTRICTS:
All closed. Will Resume classes Monday, November 30th
EL PASO COUNTY:
The County Courthouse will be CLOSED from Thursday, November 26, 2015 thru Friday, November 27, 2015 in observance of the Thanksgiving Day holiday. Normal hours will resume on Monday, November 30, 2015.
DONA ANA COUNTY:
Most Dona Ana County offices will be closed Thursday and Friday, Nov. 26-27, 2015, to allow employees to observe the Thanksgiving holiday. The administrative offices of the Doña Ana County Sheriff¹s Department will be closed.
Emergency services and law enforcement in the field will not be affected by the closures, and both saturation patrols and anti-DWI checkpoints will be deployed at undisclosed locations and times through the duration of the holiday season.
UTEP:
The UTEP campus will be closed for the Thanksgiving Holiday Thursday, Nov. 26 and Friday, November 27.
EPCC:
El Paso Community College will be closed Thursday, November 26th and Friday, November 27th in observance of Thanksgiving.
Classes will resume on Saturday, November 28th and offices will reopen on Monday, November 30th.
TTUSHC El Paso:
Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso (TTUHSC El Paso) will be closed Thursday, Nov. 26 and Friday, Nov. 27 in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. This includes most of the Texas Tech Physicians of El Paso clinics.
The Department of Pediatrics at the Texas Tech Physicians of El Paso main clinic, located at 4801 Alberta Ave., will be open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 28.
The TTUHSC El Paso libraries will close at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25 and will not reopen until7:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 29.
Classes and regular hours of operation for the rest of the campus will resume Monday, Nov. 29.
TxDOT:
Our offices will be closed Thursday, November 26 and Friday, November 27.
Sun Metro: Detours, Info & Free Rides:
The 79th annual First Light Federal Credit Union Sun Bowl Parade will require Sun Metro to detour 10 routes and temporarily relocate the Robert E. McKee Five Points Transit Terminal, 2830 Montana, from 5 a.m. to about 4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 26.
Sun Metro staff will monitor the impacted area to help passengers, and drivers will make courtesy stops as required.
All bus routes will run on a Sunday schedule on Thursday, November 26, to observe the Thanksgiving Day holiday. Sun Metro’s customer service line will be open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
REMINDER: Sun Metro customers can ride any bus all day for free during the Thanksgiving holiday; including the curb-to-curb, demand-response service, the LIFT.
Alternate boarding sites for Five Points Terminal
- Routes 25, 33, 35, 50 and 55 for inbound/westbound trips will board on Tularosa between Raynor and Piedras.
- Routes 30, 33, 35, 50 and 55 for outbound/eastbound trips will board on Tularosa between Raynor and San Marcial.
- Routes 30, 32, 34 and 41 will board on Piedras near Grant.
Route 25 Detour
Buses traveling inbound, north on Raynor will turn left onto Tularosa stopping at the temporary boarding location between Raynor and Piedras.
Route 30 Detour
Buses traveling outbound, north on Piedras will turn left onto San Jose, left onto Elm, left onto Grant, right onto Piedras, left onto Pershing returning to the regular route.
Buses traveling inbound, west on Pershing will turn right onto Piedras stopping at the temporary boarding location on Piedras near Grant.
Routes 32 and 41 Detour
Outbound buses will board on Piedras at Grant and travel the regular route.
Buses traveling inbound, south on Piedras will turn right onto San Jose, left onto Elm, left onto Grant, left onto Piedras stopping at the temporary boarding location near Grant.
Route 33 Detour
Buses traveling outbound, north on Piedras will turn right onto Wyoming, left onto San Marcial, left onto Tularosa and stop at the temporary boarding location between San Marcial and Raynor. From Tularosa, buses will turn left onto Piedras, left onto Yandell, left onto Gateway North, right onto Trowbridge returning to the regular route.
Buses traveling inbound on Trowbridge toward Gateway South will turn left onto Gateway South, right onto Yandell, right onto Raynor, left onto Tularosa and stop at the temporary boarding location between Piedras and Raynor. From Tularosa, buses will turn left onto Piedras, right on Paisano, left onto Santa Fe returning to the regular route.
Routes 34 and 36 Detour
Buses traveling outbound, north on Oregon will turn right onto Franklin, left onto Mesa, right onto River; Route 34 will turn left onto Florence and Route 36 will turn right onto Florence, returning to the regular route.
Buses traveling inbound, north on Piedras will turn left onto San Diego, left onto Alabama and onto Arizona, right onto Grandview returning to the regular route.
Route 35 Detour
Buses traveling outbound, north on Oregon will turn right onto Franklin, left onto Campbell, right onto Wyoming, left onto San Marcial, left Tularosa stopping at the temporary boarding location between San Marcial and Raynor. From Tularosa, buses will turn left onto Piedras, left onto Yandell, left onto Gateway North, left onto Trowbridge and onto Douglas, right onto Copia returning to the regular route.
Buses traveling inbound, south on Copia will turn left onto Hueco, right onto Gateway South, right onto Yandell, right onto Raynor, left onto Tularosa stopping at the temporary boarding location between Piedras and Raynor. From Tularosa, buses will turn left onto Piedras, right onto Yandell, left onto Virginia, right onto Missouri, left onto Santa Fe returning to the regular route.
Route 50 Detour
Buses traveling outbound, north on Oregon will turn right onto Franklin, left onto Campbell, right onto Wyoming, left onto San Marcial, left onto Tularosa stopping at the temporary boarding location. From Tularosa, buses will turn left onto Piedras, left onto Yandell, left onto Gateway North, right onto Montana returning to the regular route.
Buses traveling inbound, west on Montana will turn left onto Gateway South, right onto Yandell, right onto Raynor, left onto Tularosa stopping at the temporary boarding location. From Tularosa, buses will turn left onto Piedras, right onto Yandell, left onto Virginia, right onto Missouri, left onto Santa Fe returning to the regular route.
Route 55 Detour
Buses traveling outbound north on Raynor will turn right onto Wyoming, left onto San Marcial, left onto Tularosa stopping at the temporary boarding location. From Tularosa, buses will turn left onto Piedras, left onto Yandell, left onto Gateway North, right onto Montana returning to the regular route.
Buses traveling inbound, west on Montana will turn left onto Gateway South, right onto Yandell, right onto Raynor, left onto Tularosa stopping at the temporary boarding location. From Tularosa, buses will turn left onto Piedras returning to the regular route.
