The Weekly Yelp: Nothing But Nigiri

These days, sushi is all the buzz, so this week we’re taking it back to basics with nigiri. Deliciously simple, nigiri is a small ball of rice topped with raw fish or seafood. It doesn’t get any easier (or fresher) than that!

Dragonfly Wine & Sushi Bistro
5500 Doniphan Dr, El Paso, TX
“The menu brings together modern ideas in Japanese cuisine with some Korean spark… Dishes were bursting with flavor and also had interesting textures… I chose usual nigiri standards: maguro and sake. Both were tasty. The salmon was especially buttery.” – Dan H.

Sushi Garden
5435 N Mesa St, El Paso, TX
“The minute I put the first piece of nigiri sake in my mouth, I had instantly decided I needed to come back like 567 more times… I ordered two orders, slammed them. And then two more orders. And as I’m writing this I want more.” – Amos S.

Sushi Zen
2400 N Mesa, El Paso, TX
“We ordered nigiri sushi, sushi rolls, hibachi, and appetizers… Good prices for individual rolls, nigiri and hibachi… Great food, service, and prices.” – Sandra M.

Koi Japanese Fusion
5860 N Mesa St, El Paso, TX
“They have a real value happy hour running at the moment between 3–6 pm that I’d highly endorse… The nigiri and various rolls are top-notch… Presentation, ambiance, and service are very good.” – Michael K.

Koze Teppan Grill East
2204 Joe Battle Blvd, El Paso, TX
“We got the sushi platter deluxe and the Diablo roll! The nigiri was of good quality and a nice sized portion… Great service and wonderful experience.” – Christina A.
