TNTM: Kingsman the Golden Circle movie review

We had the opportunity to watch the early showing of Kingsman the Golden Circle at Alamo Drafthouse in El Paso. Jack and I enjoyed the movie and most of the audience members we talked also thought it was a good movie.

I am extremely happy the Kingsman franchise is doing well. A lot of people don’t realize the movies are based on a comic book story.
Kingsman originally was a comic book series written by Mark Millar (Kick Ass & Wanted) and Dave Gibbons (Watchmen). It is focused on the fictional organization named “Kingsman”. It was published by Icon Comics, an imprint of Marvel Comics.

**Spoilers may follow**

The Golden Circle has a lot of very choreographed fight scenes with liberal use of slow motion action. If rough and tumble realistic fighting is more your thing, you might not appreciate this new style of filming the fights.

This sequel introduces us to the Kingsman’s American counterparts, the Statesman. The agents of Statesman are all named after different types of alcohol. We also meet the new villain who has themed her entire lair in the 1950s style.

Kingsman seems to be this generations James Bond. It is a much more modernized spy movie. Lots of action, flash, and humor. I predict this series will spawn a multitude of sequels much like James Bond. The directions they can take the movies is endless.
