Trash, Recycling Collection schedules modified for Thanksgiving Day Holiday

Trash, Recycling Collection schedules modified for Thanksgiving Day Holiday

In observation of the Thanksgiving Day holiday weekend and to allow employees an opportunity to spend the holiday with their loved ones, the City of El Paso Environmental Services Department will not collect trash or recyclables on Thursday, November 26 and Friday, November 27.

“To provide all Environmental Services Department employees with the opportunity to observe the holiday weekend, the Greater El Paso Landfill, at 2600 Darrington Road, and the Citizen Collection Stations will be closed on November 26, 27, and 28,” ESD officials added.

To ensure continuity of solid waste collection services, customers affected by the holiday schedule will have their bins emptied on make-up days:

  • Blue recycling bins, and only blue recycling bins, will be collected on Monday, November 23. Environmental Services collects recyclables every other week so this schedule change only applies to customers scheduled to have their blue bins emptied during the holiday week.
  • Gray trash bins, and only gray trash bins, will be collected on Monday, November 30.

Customers may check their collection schedules by downloading the free ESD Works For You app, visiting the ESD webpage, or by dialing (915) 212-6000.
