TTUHSC El Paso to Host Live Seasonal Affective Disorder Q&A Wednesday

On Wednesday afternoon, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso’s Moataz Ragheb, M.D. will be a guest on The Exam Room, a Facebook Live Q&A about depression and seasonal affective disorder.

Dr. Ragheb will offer insights into mental health issues and treatments.

One in five adult Texans experiences a mental health concern at some point during the year, according to MentalHealthTx.org, and 12.5 percent of El Paso County residents experience frequent mental distress, according to Healthy Paso Del Norte.

Participants are encouraged to submit their questions to Dr. Ragheb in advance and RSVP on TTUHSC El Paso’s Facebook Live Q&A event page

Dr. Ragheb is an associate professor in TTUHSC El Paso’s Department of Psychiatry. He received his medical degree from Ain Shams University Faculty of Medicine in Cairo, Egypt. He completed an internship at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UT Health) McGovern Medical School and a psychiatry residency at the University of Maryland School of Medicine/Sheppard Pratt Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.

Dr. Ragheb also holds a doctorate degree in psychiatry from the Ain Shams University Faculty of Medicine and is board certified in psychiatry.
