The City of El Paso invites the public to two open house community meetings to learn about the Regional Water Park project for Central El Paso.
The Quality of Life Bond Project will replace the former Chelsea Pool, which was an outdoor pool built in 1956. According to city officials, the planned water park will “incorporate aquatic programs provided at the old Chelsea pool, while transforming the overall experience of the visitors with new amenities and multi-generational services.”
At the open house community meetings, the Capital Improvement Department will share the concept layout and discuss a possible partnership to relocate the project to a larger site located within walking distance from the original location.
The City is evaluating an alternate location in the general vicinity to provide area residents with a water park that is comparable in size to the other water parks planned for El Paso and to provide viable parking options for its visitors.
The water park will feature: a lap pool with climbing wall and volleyball net for recreational activities in addition to lap swimming, a zero depth entry family pool with water playground, a lazy river, water slides, toddler pool, shade canopies, concessions, individual changing rooms.
