Two Ysleta Educators Awarded Grants by TRTA

Two Ysleta ISD teachers pursuing their Master’s degrees were awarded a grant from District 19 Texas Retired Teachers Association.

Parkland Middle School T-STEM coordinator Raquel Jimenez and Eastwood Knolls International School fine arts teacher Christina Caraveo each received the $1,200 grant.

Ms. Jimenez is pursuing an Engineering Education Master’s Degree at UTEP. She will be among one of the first to earn the degree in December.

Ms. Caraveo is enrolled at Texas Tech University distance learning to obtain a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction.

The grant was available to any classroom teacher employed in Region 19 who is beginning or finishing up coursework for a Master’s Degree.

The teachers, along with their principals, were honored at a banquet in early October.
