Crews enter May with area-wide work on I-10, as well as several other areas around town.
Officials say that work will continue next week on intelligent traffic system (ITS) components like overhead lane management system (LMS) signs, additional dynamic message signs (DMSs) and new TransVista cameras on Interstate 10 in Central El Paso.
Installation of these elements, all of which are part of the I-10 Connect Project, will require overnight freeway closures several nights next week.

- Westbound I-10 will be closed to all traffic between Geronimo Drive and US 62/180 (Paisano Drive).
- Onramps from Gateway Boulevard West to westbound I-10 at Geronimo Drive and Trowbridge Drive will be closed to all traffic.
- DETOUR: Take Exit 24 (Geronimo Drive), continue on Gateway West and enter I-10 at Paisano.
- Ramp J which connects northbound US 54 to eastbound I-10 will be closed to all traffic
- DETOUR: Take Exit 21B (I-10 West/Las Cruces/Downtown), continue on I-10. Take Exit 20 (Cotton Street), continue on Gateway West, turn left on Cotton, then turn left to enter westbound I-10.
- The onramp from Gateway Boulevard North to Interstate 110 at Paisano Drive will be closed to all traffic.
- DETOUR: Continue on Gateway North, turn right on SH 20 (Alameda Avenue), turn left on Raynolds Street.
- Lane closures will be in place on eastbound I-10 between US 54 and Raynolds Street and on Gateway Boulevard East between Marr Street and Raynolds Street.

- Monday, May 3, from 9am to 4pm: The onramp from Gateway Boulevard North to I-110 will be closed to all traffic.
- Tuesday, May 4, through Friday, May 7, from 9am to 4pm: The onramp from Gateway Boulevard North to US 54 will be closed to all traffic.
- DETOUR: Continue on Gateway North, turn right on SH 20 (Alameda Avenue), turn left on Raynolds Street.
Nightly I-110 closures scheduled to begin during the week of May 17
Beginning during the week of May 17, crews will begin installing nearly forty overhead bridge girders as they reconstruct the overpass which will carry US 62 (Paisano Drive) over Interstate 110 immediately north of the Bridge of the Americas. To safely conduct this work, southbound I-110 leading to the bridge will close nightly for several weeks beginning next month. During these closures, southbound vehicles will not have access to the Bridge of the Americas and should consider using other ports of entry to cross from the U.S. to México.

- Ramps G and H which connects eastbound I-10 to US 54 and Juárez remains closed until further notice.
- Ramp F-B which connects westbound I-10 to Juárez remains closed until further notice.
- Interstate 110, the short freeway spur leading to and from the Bridge of the Americas, remains closed to northbound traffic until further notice.
- US 62 (Paisano Drive) remains closed to traffic in both directions between San Marcial Street and Gateway Boulevard South.
- Gateway Boulevard East remains closed to thru traffic between Loop 478 (Copia Street) and Marr Street.
- The ramp from southbound US 54 to US 62 (Paisano Drive) remains closed until further notice.
- Both turnarounds under US 54 at US 62 (Paisano Drive) remains closed until further notice.
- Intermittent closures on Durazno Avenue, Rosa Avenue and Uva Street.
- Intermittent lane closures on Gateway Boulevard East between Piedras Street and US 62/180 (Paisano Drive).
