TxDOT, Connect 10 detours, closures and work for Week of April 18
While Transmountain overnight closures are ending after Thursday night, the current phase will close access to picnic overlook areas for about the next two months.
As of Thursday, all eastbound traffic is now on the westbound side of the road, and the construction zone cuts off access to those spots. For hikers accustomed to hiking up to the elephant (aka gunsight), they’ll have to use Tom Mays Park as an alternative.
North Mesa Street northbound will be closed Sunday through Wednesday nights at Castellano to Festival; Mesa southbound will be closed Monday through Thursday nights at Brentwood to Glory Road. If you live along those stretches, you will be escorted through after 9 PM. If you do not live in the area, please use I-10 or another street as your detour.
Bridge maintenance on 10 East runs into Mill and Inlay again, same as last week (Sunday through Thursday), except a little bit shorter: this week you must exit at Viscount instead of Hawkins and you will be on the frontage roads all the way past Lee Trevino.
All the overnight closures for I-10 connect have been cancelled for next week. Daytime detours remain.
Out east, Loop 375 northbound is closed from I-10 up to Pellicano Monday through Friday nights.
