TxDoT, Connect 10 project closures, detours for week of February 9

Here’s a look  project closures for the week ahead, including full closures of I-10 and a continuous high impact closure on Mesa starting Monday morning.

A complete overnight closure of Interstate 10 at US 54 has been rescheduled for Monday, February 10, to allow crews to work on a concrete railing on a new overpass. The work will take place on the new direct connector which will link southbound US 54 to the Bridge of the Americas at the Spaghetti Bowl.

Closures have also been rescheduled on Monday and Tuesday nights for bridge deck work on SH 20 (Alameda Avenue). The closures were rescheduled due to cold, wet weather.

Mesa Park Interchange Project – 26 Hour Closure!

Sunday, Feb. 9 through Monday, Feb. 10
4 a.m. to 6am

  • I-10 westbound from Schuster to Sunland Park
  • Detour: Traffic will exit at Schuster and will use the new Border West Expressway via roundabout.
  • I-10 westbound 27-hour complete freeway closure to move barrier and restripe main lanes, shifting traffic.

Thursday, Feb. 6 through Monday, Feb. 17
Intermittently 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • Eastbound and westbound right lanes closed on Executive Overpass.
  • Crews will be working on curbs.
  • Contractor will not be working on Executive Overpass on Sunday, Feb 9 and Feb 16.

GO10 Utility Work – Starts Monday Morning!

Monday, Feb. 10- Friday, March 6
Starting at 9 a.m. and continuous

  • Mesa Street eastbound (toward mtn.) will be reduced to one lane between Osborne and Remcon. No right turns will be permitted onto Mesa from WBCD/I-10 westbound Mesa exit ramp.

I-10 Connect – I-10 Closure!

Monday, Feb. 10, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

  • I-10 will be closed to all traffic at US 54.
  • Ramp C which connects northbound US 54 to eastbound I-10 will be closed to all traffic.
  • Ramp L which connects Gateway Boulevard West to westbound I-10 at Raynolds Street will be closed to all traffic.
  • DETOUR: Eastbound and westbound traffic on I-10 will take Exit 22B (US 54/Alamogordo/Juárez/Fort Bliss), travel north on US 54 to Exit 22B (Pershing Drive), use the Pershing Turnaround, enter southbound US 54 and follow signs to eastbound I-10, westbound I-10 or Juárez.
  • Crews will work on concrete railings.

Monday, Feb. 10 and Tuesday, Feb. 11

Nightly from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

  • Southbound US 54 will be closed between I-10 and Loop 375.
  • DETOUR: From I-10, take Exit 23B (US 62/180/Chelsea Street/Paisano Drive), travel south on Paisano to the Bridge of the Americas.
  • SH 20 (Alameda Avenue) will be closed to all traffic at US 54.
  • DETOURS: Eastbound traffic will turn left on Loop 478 (Copia Street), right on Gateway Boulevard East, and right on Raynolds street. Westbound traffic will use westbound US 62 (Paisano Drive) and turn right on Loop 478 (Copia Street).
  • NOTE: Alameda will remain open to local traffic only except for the area immediately under US 54.
  • Crews will be working on a concrete bridge deck.

Mall Braided Ramps Project – I-10 Closure

Sunday, Feb. 09 through Friday, Feb. 14 (complete closure)
9 p.m. to 5 a.m. (overnight)

  • I-10 westbound complete closure between Hawkins Boulevard and Airway Boulevard.
  • Crews will be repairing armored joint.

Monday, Feb. 10 through Friday, Feb. 14
7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • Gateway Boulevard eastbound left lane closure at Hawkins Boulevard intersection.
  • Crews will be working on retaining walls.

Guardrail Repair Project

Monday, Feb. 10
9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • Loop 375 eastbound from Plant to Zaragoza right lane closed.

Tuesday, Feb. 11
9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • I-10 eastbound from Schuster to Porfirio Diaz, Porfirio Diaz ramp closed.

Wednesday, Feb. 12
9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • Loop 375 westbound from Tom Mays Park to Plexxar, right lane closed.

Thursday, Feb. 13
9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • US 54 southbound from Van Horne Estates to Tiger Eye, left lane closed.

  • Mesa between Brentwood and Executive, northbound and southbound, alternating lane closures.

Sunday, Feb. 9 through Thursday, Feb. 13
9 p.m. to 5am

  • Loop 375 eastbound and westbound between Tom Mays Park and I-10 alternating lane and ramp closures.
  • I-10 Desert northbound and southbound from Mesa to Enchanted Springs alternating lane closures.

Monday, Feb. 10 through Saturday, Feb. 15
9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • Loop 375 eastbound and westbound between Tom Mays Park and I-10 alternating lane and ramp closures
  • I-10 Desert northbound and southbound from Mesa to Enchanted Springs alternating lane closures.

Loop 375 Frontage Road Project

Monday, Feb. 10 through Wednesday, Feb. 12
9 p.m. to 5 a.m. (overnight)

  • Loop 375 southbound right lane closure between North Loop Drive to Alameda Avenue.
  • Americas Avenue southbound closure at North Loop Drive entrance ramp.
  • Loop 375 traffic detour westbound at North Loop Drive to Zaragoza Road.
  • Loop 375 traffic detour eastbound at North Loop Drive to Inglewood Drive.
  • Crews will be installing portable concrete traffic barrier on entrance ramp and work zone striping.

I-10 Landscape Improvements

Monday, Jan. 13 through Friday, March 20, 2020
9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

  • I-10 alternating eastbound and westbound left and right lane closures between Eastlake Boulevard and Horizon Boulevard.
  • I-10 alternating eastbound and westbound entrance and exit ramps to include turnaround.
  • Closure is necessary for construction of landscape improvements to include excavation, ground cover, modular block planters, concrete and maintenance.

LED Chevrons on I-10

Until further notice
8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • I-10 alternating eastbound and westbound left lane closures 2 miles east of Fabens Road overpass.
  • I-10 alternating eastbound and westbound left lane closures between Esperanza Road, Ft. Hancock to Sierra Blanca.
  • Closure is necessary for construction safety work consisting of LED flashing chevrons and guardrail improvements.
