TxDoT, Connect10 closures, detours and work for week of March 1st

While most of the closures for construction of the I-10 Connect Project have taken place overnight, a string of daytime closures will impact traffic next week on US 62 (Paisano Drive) near the Chamizal National Memorial and the Bridge of the Americas.

Nighttime closures will also be in place next week for eastbound traffic on Interstate 10 and southbound traffic on US 54.

Crack Seal Operations

Sunday, March 1 – Thursday, March 5

9pm to 5am

  • I-10 Gateway Blvd East from Eucalyptus to Trowbridge.
  • I-10 Gateway Blvd West from Trowbridge to just past North Virginia alternating lane and ramp closures.

Monday, March 2 – Saturday, March 7

9am to 4pm

  • I-10 Gateway Blvd West from Trowbridge to just past North Virginia.
  • I-10 Gateway Blvd East from Eucalyptus to Trowbridge alternating lane and ramp closures.

IH-10 Ramp Improvements – Phase 2

Monday, March 2 – Friday, March 6

9am to 4pm

  • I-10 at Airway turnaround closed in both directions.
  • I-10 at Airway underpass North and Southbound right lane closure.
  • I-10 at Gateway East from Hawkins to Hunter/Viscount alternate lane closures.

Thursday, March 5

9pm to 5am

  • I-10 at Airway underpass North and Southbound from Gateway Blvd East and Gateway Blvd West closed.
  • Detour for Southbound traffic will be right on International Dr and left on Robert E Lee and back to Gateway Blvd East or West.
  • Detour for Eastbound traffic will be straight on Gateway Blvd East and left at Hawkins.

Mesa Park Interchange Project

9pm to 1am

  • I-10 Westbound from Executive to Sunland Park complete closure.

Sunday, March 1

1am to 6am

  • I-10 Eastbound from Sunland Park to Executive complete closure.

Monday, March 2

9pm to 6am

  • I-10 Eastbound from Sunland Park to Executive complete closure.

Guardrail Repair Project

Wednesday, March 4

9am to 4pm

  • I-10 Westbound from Mesa Park to Sunland Park left lane closure and complete off-ramp closure at Resler exit

Maintenance

Monday, March 2 – Friday, March 6

8am to 3pm

  • Robert E. Lee under IH10 between Gateway Blvd East and West complete closure.
  • I-10 Westbound between Airways and Downtown left lane closure.
  • I-10 Eastbound between Schuster and Robert E Lee left lane closure.
  • Loop 375 Border Highway Eastbound between Coles and Bridge of Americas right lane closure.
  • I-10 Eastbound at MM 10, Redd Road entrance to MM 11, Mesa exit left lane closure.
  • US54 Northbound complete closure, exit on Kenworthy and detour on Martin Luther King.
  • Kenworthy entrance ramp to US54 Northbound will be closed.

I-10 Connect

Monday, March 2 – Saturday, March 7

Daily 9am to 4pm

  • Eastbound US 62 (Paisano Drive) will be closed to all traffic between Interstate 110 and US 54.
  • DETOUR: Turn right on San Marcial Street, left on Delta Drive and left on Boone Street
  • NOTE: Traffic bound for Juárez via eastbound US 62 to the Bridge of the Americas will not be impacted.
  • Crews will be placing temporary pavement.

Monday, March 2, and Tuesday, March 3

Daily 9am to 4pm

  • The ramp from westbound I-10 to US 62/180 (Paisano Drive/Chelsea Street) will be closed to all traffic.
  • DETOUR: Take Exit 24 (Geronimo Drive/Trowbridge Drive) and follow Gateway Boulevard West.
  • Crews will be doing electrical work.

Monday, March 2 – Wednesday, March 4

Nightly 9pm to 5am

  • Southbound US 54 will be closed to all traffic between I-10 and Loop 375.
  • DETOUR: Take Exit 21A (I-10 East/Van Horn), take Exit 23B (US 62/180/Chelsea Street/Paisano Drive) and follow Paisano to the Bridge of the Americas.
  • Crews will be relocating temporary safety barriers.

 Wednesday, March 4, and Thursday, March 5

Nightly 9pm to 5am

  • Ramp N which connects eastbound Loop 375 to northbound US 54 will be closed to all traffic.
  • DETOUR: Take Exit 59 (US 62/Paisano Drive/Coles Street), turn right on Paisano, take the I-10/US 54/Juárez, México, exit and turn left on I-110 to northbound US 54.
  • Crews will be working on a concrete bridge abutment.

Thursday, March 5, from 9pm to 5am

  • I-10 will be closed to all traffic between Loop 478 (Copia Street) and Raynolds Street.
  • I-10 DETOUR: Take Exit 22A (Loop 478/Copia Street), continue on Gateway Boulevard East, re-enter eastbound I-10 at Raynolds.
  • US 54 DETOUR: Use the above detour, take Exit 24A (Trowbridge Drive), use the newly widened Trowbridge Turnaround to enter westbound I-10, take Exit 22B (US 54/Alamogordo/Juárez/Fort Bliss).
  • JUÁREZ DETOUR: Continue on Gateway East to Paisano and follow Paisano to the Bridge of the Americas.
  • Crews will be placing overhead bridge girders.

Zaragoza/Montwood Improvement Project

Sunday, March 8 (complete closure)

5 a.m. to 6 a.m.

  • Joe Battle Boulevard southbound complete closure at Montwood and Zaragoza intersection
  • Crews will be removing existing electric power lines

I-10 Landscape Improvements

Monday, Jan. 13 – Friday, March 20, 2020

9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

  • I-10 alternating eastbound and westbound left and right lane closures between Eastlake Boulevard and Horizon Boulevard
  • I-10 alternating eastbound and westbound entrance and exit ramps to include turnaround
  • Closure is necessary for construction of landscape improvements to include excavation, ground cover, modular block planters, concrete and maintenance

LED Chevrons on I-10

Until further notice

8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • I-10 alternating eastbound and westbound left lane closures 2 miles east of Fabens Road overpass
  • I-10 alternating eastbound and westbound left lane closures between Esperanza Road, Ft. Hancock to Sierra Blanca
  • Closure is necessary for construction safety work consisting of LED flashing chevrons and guardrail improvements

Mall Braided Ramps Project

Sunday, March 1 – Friday, March 6 (complete closure)

9 p.m. to 5 a.m. (overnight)

  • I-10 westbound complete closure between Hawkins Boulevard and Airway Boulevard
  • Crews will be removing portable traffic concrete barrier

Monday, March 2 – Friday, March 6

7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • Gateway Boulevard eastbound left lane closure at Hawkins Boulevard intersection
  • Crews will be working on retaining walls

Monday, March 2 – Friday, March 6

7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • Gateway Boulevard westbound closure at Hawkins Boulevard exit ramp
  • Crews will be working on concrete curb and gutter

Monday, March 2, through Saturday, March 7

Daily 9am to 4pm
