TxDOT, Connect10 work, detours for Week of September 26

As September and Summer fades and October and Fall approach, crews continue to work on the region’s highways and byways, for the good of our community. Check out the links below for full info on each project.

Mesa Rehabilitation Project

Monday, September 27 through Friday, October 1

6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

  • Mesa southbound between Sunland Park and Baltimore alternate lane closures.

Crews will be paving main lanes, median cuts, and turning bays.

(City-Wide OSB) Signs Project

Sunday, September 26

Night, 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

  • I-10 westbound between Piedras Exit 21 and Mesa closed.

Crews will be installing and resetting overhead signs and painting pavement markings.

Bridge Preventative Maintenance Project

Sunday, September 26 through Thursday, September 30

Nightly, 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

  • Loop 375 north and southbound between Pellicano and Montana alternate lane closures.

Crews will be working on bridge joint repairs.

Guardrail Repair Project

Monday, September 27

9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • I-10 westbound between Hawkins and Airway right lane closed.

Tuesday, September 28

9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • Woodrow Bean westbound at Rushing on-ramp closed.
  • I-10 westbound at UTEP exit ramp right lane closed.

Wednesday, September 29

9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • North Desert between Transmountain and David left lane closed.

Thursday, September 30

9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • I-10 westbound at Raynolds exit ramp closed.

Friday, October 1

9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • US-54 northbound to I-10 westbound Ramp C closed.
  • I-10 westbound at Copia exit ramp closed.

Spall Repair

Monday, September 27 through Thursday, September 30

Nightly, 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

  • I-10 westbound between Geronimo and Santa Fe downtown exit alternate lane closures.

Crews will be repairing spall.

I-10 Connect

Monday, September 27,  9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • The onramp from Gateway Boulevard South to southbound US 54 at Pershing Drive will be closed to all traffic.
  • DETOUR: Enter southbound US 54 at Yandell Drive or Cassidy Road.
  • NOTE: Because of this closure, the detour from westbound I-10 to Juárez will be extended north on US 54. Take Exit 24 (Fred Wilson Avenue), use the Fred Wilson turnaround and continue on Gateway South to US 54 and follow signs to Juárez.

Crews will be conducting electrical work.

Monday, September 27, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

  • Lane closures will be in place on westbound I-10 between the Cotton Street offramp and the Cotton Street onramp.
  • The offramp which connects westbound I-10 to Missouri Avenue at Cotton Street will be closed to all traffic.
  • The onramp which connects Missouri Avenue to westbound I-10 at Cotton Street will be closed to all traffic.

Crews will be working on a dynamic message sign (DMS).

Monday, September 27, through Wednesday, September 29

Nightly, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

  • Southbound I-110 will be closed to all traffic leading to the Bridge of the Americas.
  • DETOUR: Traffic bound from El Paso to Juárez should use a different Port of Entry.
  • Ramp H which connects eastbound I-10 to northbound US 54 will be closed to all traffic.
  • DETOUR: Continue on eastbound I-10, take Exit 24A (Trowbridge Drive), use the turnaround to enter westbound I-10, take Exit 22B (US 54).

Crews will be relocating concrete safety barriers, striping and working on signs.

Tuesday, September 28, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

  • Lane closures will be in place on eastbound I-10 between US 54 and Exit 23B (US 62/180/Chelsea Street/Paisano Drive).
  • Lane closures will be in place on Ramp D which connects southbound US 54 to eastbound I-10.

Crews will be working on a dynamic message sign (DMS).

Wednesday, September 29, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

  • Ramp B which connects northbound US 54 to Gateway Boulevard North at Montana Avenue will be closed to all traffic.
  • Ramp C which connects northbound US 54 to westbound I-10 will be closed to all traffic.
  • DETOUR: Continue north on US 54, take Exit 23 (Cassidy Road), take Exit 22B (Pershing Drive), use the turnaround to enter southbound US 54 and follow signs to I-10 West or Montana Avenue.

Crews will be placing signs.

Loop 375 Frontage Road Project

Monday, Sept. 27 through Thursday, Sept. 30

Nightly, from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. (overnight)

  • Loop 375 northbound closure at Pan American Drive Exit ramp (Exit 47)
  • Loop 375 northbound closure at Pan American Drive entrance ramp
  • Loop 375 southbound closure at Pan American Drive Exit ramp (Exit 48A)
  • Loop 375 southbound closure at Pan American Drive entrance ramp
  • Traffic will travel through next available ramp

Crews will be placing permanent striping

Loop 375 Widening Project

Monday, Sept. 27 through Thursday, Sept. 30 (complete closure)

Nightly, from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. (overnight)

  • Loop 375 northbound complete main lane closure between Zaragoza Road and North Loop Drive
  • Loop 375 northbound traffic will exit at Zaragoza Road (Exit 48) and detour along frontage road to Alameda Avenue.  Traffic will have option to detour to Zaragoza Road or Inglewood Drive

Crews will be pouring concrete on Union Pacific Railroad bridge deck

Monday, Sept 27 through Thursday, Sept 30 (complete closure)

Nightly, from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. (overnight)

  • Loop 375 complete closure at Zaragoza Road bridge underpass to include turnarounds
  • All traffic will detour along frontage roads

Crews will be working on bridge columns

 

Montana Frontage Road Project

Monday, Sept. 27 through Wednesday, Sept. 29

Daily, from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.

  • Montana Avenue (US 62/180) eastbound right lane and right shoulder closure between Smoke Signal Drive to east of George Dieter Drive
  • Traveling public will detour at George Dieter Drive on the right lane and not the right turn lane

Crews will be working on water line

Wednesday, Sept. 29

Daily, from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.

  • Montana Avenue (US 62/180) eastbound right lane and right shoulder closure at George Dieter Drive (south of McDonald’s)
  • Traffic traveling southbound will merge to left lane

Crews will be working on electrical pole
