TxDoT/Go10 Closures, Detours for Week of October 21

All the closures and detours for the upcoming week are listed below, as are links to the individual projects.

Mesa Park Interchange Project 

I-10

Sunday, Oct. 21 through Thursday, Oct. 25
9 p.m. to 6 a.m. (nightly)

  • Complete closure on I-10 eastbound between Sunland Park to Downtown
  • DETOUR: Traffic will need to exit at Sunland Park, traffic will continue on Sunland Park then turn on M. Mesa and enter I-10 at the Downtown entrance ramp
  • Crews will be placing barrier and striping lanes between Executive to the Asarco Metal Bridge.

I-10

Sunday, Oct. 28 through Tuesday, Oct. 30
9 p.m. to 6 a.m. (nightly)

  • Complete closure on I-10 westbound between Schuster to Sunland Park
  • DETOUR: Traffic will need to exit at the Schuster exit ramp and continue on Sunland Park to N. Mesa
  • Crews will be striping and placing barriers between the Asarco Metal Bridge and Executive

I-10

Thursday, Nov. 1
9 p.m. to 6 a.m. (nightly)

  • Complete closure on I-10 westbound between Schuster to Sunland Park
  • DETOUR: Traffic will need to exit at the Schuster exit ramp and continue on Sunland Park to N. Mesa
  • Crews will be striping and placing barriers between the Asarco Metal Bridge and Executive

I-10 Both Directions

Overnight
Sunday, Oct. 21, through Thursday, Oct. 25
8 p.m. each night to 6 a.m. each morning

  • I-10 eastbound will close at Sunland Park (Exit 13). Detour: Motorists will exit at Sunland Park, follow the detour signs to Doniphan Drive and Paisano Drive (US 85), then onto Executive Center Boulevard. The Executive Center Boulevard entrance ramp to I-10 eastbound will be open.
  • I-10 westbound will close at Executive Center (Exit 16). Detour: Motorists will exit at Executive Center, then follow the detour signs to North Mesa Street (SH 20). The North Mesa entrance ramp to I-10 westbound will be open.
  • Sunland Park Drive will close in both directions at the I-10 overpass. Detour: Motorists should use an alternate route.
  • Paisano Drive (US 85) westbound will close at McNutt Road (NM 273). Detour: Motorists on westbound Paisano Drive (US 85) will exit at McNutt Road (NM 273).
  • Both Sunland Park entrance ramps to I-10 eastbound will close.
  • Crockett Street access to Paisano Drive (US 85) will close.
  • The Resler flyover entrance ramp to I-10 eastbound will close.
  • The Sunland Park entrance ramp to I-10 westbound will close.
  • The Schuster/UTEP entrance ramp to I-10 westbound will close.
  • Crews will be painting structures, hauling dirt, and doing maintenance on pavement markings.

North Mesa

Overnight
Monday, Oct. 22 through Thursday, Oct. 25
8 p.m. each night to 6 a.m. each morning

  • North Mesa Street (SH 20) eastbound lanes (traveling in the direction from Osborne Drive toward Remcon Circle) will close between Osborne Drive and North Desert Boulevard.
  • The North Mesa entrance ramp to I-10 eastbound will close. Detour: Motorists should use an alternate entrance ramp.
  • The North Mesa exit ramp from I-10 eastbound will be open; however, exiting motorists will only be able to turn right at the North Mesa Street signalized intersection.
  • Crews will be removing and installing concrete pavement on North Mesa Street near the I-10 overpass.

Sunland Park

Continuous – 24/7
Monday, Oct. 22, at 9 a.m., through Friday, Oct. 26 at 6 p.m.

  • Paisano Drive (US 85) – in front of the auto dealerships – will be reduced to one lane between Sunland Park Drive and Crockett Street.
  • Access to businesses will remain open.
  • Crews will be installing a sign structure.

Guardrail Repair Project

Wednesday, Oct. 24
9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (throughout the day)

  • Alternate lane closures on Ramp D (I-10 west to US 54 north).
  • Ramp F (I-10 west to Juarez I-110) will be closed.

Thursday, Oct. 25
9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (throughout the day)

  • Right lane closure on US 54 southbound between Ellerthorpe to the Spur 601 ramp.
  • Southbound Ellerthorpe ramp will be closed.

Friday, Oct. 26
9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (throughout the day)

  • Chaffee entrance ramp to Spur 601 east will be closed.
LOCATION DURATION DESCRIPTION
North Mesa 17 HOURS

Sunday, October 21

3 am to 8 pm

 

·      North Mesa Street (SH 20) will close completely in both directions between Remcon Circle and Osborne Drive. Detour:  Motorists should use an alternate route such as Sunland Park Drive or Redd Road.

·      All North Mesa entrance ramps and exit ramps (Exit 11) at I-10 will close. Detour:  Motorists should use alternate ramps at Redd Road or Sunland Park Drive.

·      McClintock Drive access to South Desert Boulevard will close.

·      South Desert Boulevard will close between McClintock Drive and North Mesa Street (SH 20).

 

Crews will be moving barrier walls, re-striping lanes, and realigning the North Mesa eastbound exit ramp.

 

IMPORTANT:  After the closure lifts, motorists on North Mesa Street (SH 20) between Remcon and Osborne will experience a change in traffic lane patterns.  Motorists should plan for extra travel time and approach the area cautiously.

 

WEATHER NOTE:  If rain prevents this work from happening on October 21, then crews will implement this closure on the nights of October 22-25 to get the work done. If factors such as weather prevent work on the nights of October 22-25, then crews will implement this closure on Sunday, November 4.

 

I-10 Both Directions

 

Overnight

October 21-25

8 pm each night to 6 am each morning
