Video: TNTM Reviews Umbrella Academy Season 1 on Netflix

It seems like everyone is jumping on the bandwagon of trying to turn the non-mainstream comics into hit series.

There have been lots of promises of series in the works (Chew, Locke & Key, Hack & Slash, etc.) There have even been a few that made it into a series that just didn’t catch on with the public (Iron Fist, The Tick -2018, The Inhumans). But every once in a while all the stars align and a lesser known comic book gets made into a spectacular series. Netflix has done that with Umbrella Academy.

The Umbrella Academy is Dark Horse Comics title developed by Steve Blackman and Jeremy Slater for Netflix. The comic book was created by Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá. The whole premise of the story is so weird that it is intriguing. It is weird in a good way. This is one of those Netflix shows where you are happy the whole season is released at once…. cuz you will want to binge watch it.

If you’ve read the comics, then you noticed there are a few changes here and there. The changes aren’t anything big enough to alter the plot. I especially like how they dealt with Cha-Cha and Hazel ( you will learn who they are pretty quickly in the series).

Do you agree with Patrick and me that Umbrella Academy is a really solid series? Who is your favorite character from the series? Let us know in the comments.
