UPDATE: UMC fills all available appointment registrations for 1st dose of Covid-19 Vaccine

In only three hours after opening online registration, officials with University Medical Center of El Paso announced that they have closed vaccination appointment registration for the first dose of the recently received allotment of 5,000 Moderna COVID-19 vaccines.

The first 5,000 registrants, who fall into categories 1A and 1B, primarily first responders and those 65 and older or others with underlying health conditions, all set appointments for  the first dose of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine (allotment of 5,000), with vaccinations to take place at the UMC Main Campus.

“We will announce when we have more vaccine/appointments available…you can also register for a COVID-19 vaccination at,” officials added via a news release.

UMC opens appointment registration for First Dose of COVID-19 Vaccine

Officials with University Medical Center announced Sunday morning that they are accepting COVID-19 vaccination appointment registration for categories 1A and 1B – meaning healthcare workers responders/first responders, anyone 65 and older or others with certain underlying health conditions

Registration began at 11 a.m. Sunday, and will remain open until all open appointments are scheduled. For registration visit the page at

“Walk-up vaccinations are not being accepted. You must have an appointment. You can register for the vaccine, until all available appointments are scheduled, online,” officials added.

These appointments are for the first dose of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine and will take place at the UMC Main Campus.  Second-dose appointment will be scheduled after patients receive their first dose.

UMC will also announce when the appointment registrations have all been filled for this allotment.
