Undefeated El Paso Rhinos slide into home to face Avalanche

The El Paso Rhinos continue to thrash the competition in the Western States Hockey League and are ready to continue their stellar win streak on their home ice this weekend.

Undefeated El Paso, now 9-0, will take on the powerful 11-2 Ontario Avalanche in a three-game home series at the El Paso County Coliseum Special Events Center, 4100 E. Paisano. The games are set for 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Nov. 4-5, and 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 6.

The games will feature the popular Jersey Off Our Backs promotion, which gives fans the chance to win a game-worn jersey in the third period of each game.

In the first nine games of the season, the Rhinos have been fiercely dominant on the ice, scoring an amazing 102 goals, while holding all competition to only seven goals. They have shut down the Arizona Hawks, San Diego Sabers and Dallas Snipers, so far.

The WSHL, an Amateur Athletic Union-sanctioned Tier II Junior A ice hockey league, features 28 teams split into four divisions: Western, Northwestern, Mountain and Mid- Western. El Paso plays in the Mid-Western Division, along with the Springfield Express, Tulsa Jr. Oilers, Oklahoma City Blazers, Wichita Jr. Thunder and Dallas Snipers.

Tickets are $5 for general admission, $10 for Grey Section seats, $15 for Orange Section seats, $20 for Glass Section seats and free for military with ID. They are available at the El Paso County Coliseum Box Office, all Ticketmaster outlets, by phone at 800-745-3000 and online.
