The Aggies are coming to town and the Miners are ready.
The top-ranked, unbeaten UTEP Miners will host the No. 2 Texas A&MAggies in a battle for the top spot in the South Division of the Texas Collegiate Hockey Conference this weekend.
The two-game, special home series is set for 7:30 p.m. Sunday and Monday, Jan. 8-9, at the El Paso County Coliseum Events Center at 4100 E. Paisano.
The Miners are an incredible 13-0, while Texas A&M is 11-1. UTEP is paced by stellar sophomore center Lukas Znosko, who already has earned two TCHC Players of the Week honors this season. The Stamford, Conn., native leads the Miners with 51 points, including 29 goals and 22 assists.
One of the winningest programs in Texas college hockey history, the Aggies are looking to the play of standout center Huston Svondrk, who currently has 37 points.
The UTEP Miners Hockey Club competes within the TCHC, which is part of the American Collegiate Hockey Association.
