United Way of El Paso County’s AmeriCorps program recruiting for new positions

Officials with United Way of El Paso County announced Wednesday that their organization is recruiting positions under the AmeriCorps program.

According to officials, these positions will support their Parents as Teachers (PAT) program and early education for children throughout El Paso.

The two positions: PAT Parent Educator, First Year and PAT Resource Navigator, First Year, will take place between September 1, 2021 and July 29, 2022.

Applicants should be at least 18 years of age, bilingual, and must possess a valid driver’s license, high school diploma/GED, and vehicle with proof of insurance.

AmeriCorps PAT Parent Educator, First Year

AmeriCorps PAT Parent Educators successfully implement the Parents as Teachers program, including planning and conducting personal home visits with families enrolled in the program, completing developmental screenings for children, and helping parents become their children’s first and best teachers.

AmeriCorps PAT Resource Navigator, First Year

AmeriCorps PAT Resource Navigators work with two AmeriCorps Parent Educators to serve as the main source for community resources and referrals available to parents enrolled in the program. Resource Navigators assess overall wellness of parents enrolled in program, assist with case management, and maintain an up to date resource directory for use by Resource Navigator team.

All inquiries and for full details, applicants should contact AmeriCorps Parents as Teachers Program Supervisor, Kimberly Cedillo at kcedillo@unitedwayelpaso.org.
