Officials with El Paso County announced Tuesday the schedule for the unveiling of the Healing Garden, paying tribute to the 23 victims of the Walmart Massacre on August 3rd, 2019.
El Paso County Judge Ricardo A. Samaniego, County Commissioners, and other community leaders will participate in the dedication ceremony and unveiling of the Healing Garden, on August 3rd, at 7 p.m. at Ascarate Lake.
Honored guests will include families of the 23 victims.
“As the 2nd year mark of the August 3rd tragedy approaches El Paso County will unveil the Healing Garden which will act as a beacon of El Paso’s culture, strength, and unity that cannot be weakened by hate,” County officials shared.
The program will also include others guests such as Dolores Huerta, American icon and activist, as well as Zuill Bailey, Grammy Award Winner and Internationally Renowned Soloist.
Earlier this year, family members of the victims were invited to the garden for a private dedication, where they were able to plant a tree in memory of their loved one.
Officials added that the full ceremony will also be streamed live on the “El Paso County, Texas” YouTube channel.
