UTEP Announces Summer Theatre and Dance Camps

Registration for UTEP’s Acting and Dance camps are now open. The camps run from June 6th through June 24th.  UTEP officials say limited financial assistance is available for the camps.

Acting Camps

This camp focuses on the acting and rehearsal process. All students will learn the fundamentals of the performance process of theater culminating in a live performance for family and friends on the last day of the camp. These camps require a great deal of dedication and discipline from all students involved.

Beginning

Ages 7-12, MondayFriday, 9 a.m.-noon. Cost: $245 (total cost for three weeks)

Students should have second grade reading/writing level. The camp is facilitated by Adriana Dominguez, Ph.D., UTEP faculty member.

Advanced

Ages 13-18, MondayFriday, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Cost: $245 (total cost for three weeks). The camp is facilitated by Rebecca Rivas, UTEP faculty member.

Dance Camps

These camps focus on the appreciation, performance and creation of dance.

Young dancers will take a series of daily classes in various dance styles including ballet, contemporary, tap and jazz. Students will create their own choreography as well. Camps culminate in a live performance for family and friends.

Young Dancers

Ages 7-12, MondayFriday, 1-4 p.m. Cost: $245 (total cost for three weeks). This camp is facilitated by S. Paola Lopez Ramirez, UTEP faculty member.

Tiny Toes

Ages 4-6, MondayFriday, 1-4 p.m. Cost: $245 (total cost for three weeks). This camp is facilitated by Laura Escobar, UTEP dance graduate.
