UTEP Athletics Introduces Miner Priority Points Program

UTEP Athletics Introduces Miner Priority Points Program

The upcoming renovation of the Sun Bowl, including the introduction of loge boxes and club seating, will result in a removal of approximately 5,000 seats.

In order to best serve all fans and make sure no one is put at a disadvantage due to the changes, a complete reseat of the stadium will occur.

Miner Priority Points was developed to assist with the reallocation of seating. Fans will have an opportunity to select their seats in the revitalized Sun Bowl beginning in spring 2019, based on the Miner Priority Points that they have accrued.

In addition to selecting their seats, fans will be able to choose their parking for the upcoming football season as well.

“It’s the most fair and equitable way to assist with the selection of seats,” Senter said. “In putting together the Miner Priority Points program, we conducted an extensive evaluation process that included an in-depth analysis of peer institutions, review of industry best practices and numerous conversations with season ticket holders and fans. The program is designed to recognize fan affinity, loyalty and financial support.”

Fans will receive their initial Miner Priority Points totals through the mail in the coming weeks. Along with their points total, they will receive a comprehensive Sun Bowl seating, parking and Miner Priority Points guide that details the Sun Bowl project and how the new priority points system works.

Fans will have until March 1, 2019 to improve their individual ranking should they choose to do so as well as contact the Miner Athletic Club with any potential point discrepancies.

After March 1, finalized Miner Priority Points totals and rankings will be communicated and fans will receive their appointment times to select seat and parking locations.

All 2018 football season ticket holders will receive appointment times. Non-2018 football season ticket holders can request season tickets and make a corresponding deposit, but will not be able to select their seats until after all current season ticket holders have made their selections.

More information on requesting 2019 football season tickets will be released in the near future.
