UTEP Athletics to Host “Miners Got Talent” Saturday

UTEP Athletics is seeking performers for men’s and women’s basketball halftime shows this season and doing it in the most unique way.

Officials with UTEP announced Tuesday the first-ever, ‘Miners Got Talent’ competition.

Via a news release, officials shared, “If you believe that you’ve got what it takes, you’re invited to show your skills at “Miners Got Talent,” UTEP Athletics’ first-ever talent competition on Saturday, June 16, at Memorial Gym.”

Auditions will be accepted from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.  There is a time limit of five minutes per contestant.  Bands must provide their own equipment.

Music for dance performances must be on a USB drive.  A microphone and speakers will be provided for musical acts.

The top talents will compete during basketball halftime shows and advance by an audience vote.  A grand prize of $1,000 will be awarded to the first place winner.

All contestants must RSVP by phone (747-6229), email (paydirtpete@utep.edu) or online (utepathletics.com/mgt).
