Layola at UTEP-42Floyd is in his 23rd year as a collegiate head coach and has compiled a record of 434-243.  He is 106-63 in his sixth season at UTEP.  Floyd’s teams have posted 20 winning seasons with eight trips to the NCAA Tournament and five trips to the NIT.

“Coach Floyd is well known for practice porousness,” the site says.  “One of the best SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) analysts in the game.”

“There is a reason great basketball minds like Bibby, Floyd and O’Neill hired and kept Cantu on staff, eventually leading him to an interim head coach tag at USC; plain and simple, this guy is good!!!,” the site says.

The Miners (3-0) will host Florida A&M on Tuesday at 7 p.m. as part of the Corpus Christi Coastal Classic.
