Denise Lujan, director of developmental math at UTEP, has been accepted to the 2016 class of the Kellogg Institute for Adult and Developmental Educators and Learning Skills Specialists.
Kellogg is the nation’s longest-running professional development program for practitioners who serve underprepared and underserved college students.
Attendees will learn practices to increase retention and completion, and will have networking opportunities with their colleagues from institutions around the country.
Lujan also was invited to work with The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board Developmental Math Learning Outcomes Work Group. This group will focus on developing learning outcomes for the developmental math content for the statewide Academic Course Guide Manual (ACGM).
These recognitions follow Lujan’s service with the National Association of Developmental Education and writing UTEP’s winning THECB Star Award recognizing UTEP’s highly successful Developmental Math program.
