The 2016 UTEP football season will begin when the team leaves on Aug. 3 to Ruidoso, N.M. for 12 days. The busses are expected to depart from the Larry K. Durham center at noon. The team will stay at the MCM Elegante Lodge & Suites.
There will be two scrimmages, the first on Aug. 9 and the second on Aug. 14. Both sessions will start at 9:45 a.m. The Community Day Barbeque with UTEP Football (fan day) will take place on Aug. 7 (4:30-6:30 p.m.) at the MCM Elegante Lodge & Suites.
Practice will officially commence the morning of Aug. 4. On Monday, players will be in full pads for the first time.
The first scrimmage will take place on Tuesday, while practice will resume in shorts at 3:45-5:15 p.m.
The second scrimmage will take place on Sunday (Aug. 14) at 9:45 a.m. and the team will depart Ruidoso following the session. The team will return to practice on Tuesday at Glory Field.
