UTEP Golf Still in13th Place After 36 Holes at John Burns Intercollegiate

Lihue, Kauai, Hawaii- The Miners shaved eight strokes off their first round tally of 301 to finish round two with a team score of 293. UTEP sits in 13th place at 18-over par (301-293-594).

#8 Texas is in first place at 16-under par ( 276-284-560) and #17 California is in second at nine-under par in the 17-team field.

Frederik Dreier is the low Miner after two rounds. The junior is tied for 11th place at one-under par (71-72-143). The second round highlight for Dreier was his eagle on the 535 yard par 5, which he eagled.

Sophomore Charlie Corner had the best round of day two for the Miners with a one-under par 71. The righty tallied three birdies, 13 pars and two bogeys. He is tied for 25th place at one-over par for the tournament.

San Antonio native Ben Getman rolled in five birdies in an eight-hole stretch to card a one-over par 73. Getman is tied for 53rd place at seven-over par (78-73-151).

Andreas Sorenson (78-77-155) is tied for 79th (11-over par), Settavut Paradee (individual) is tied for 88th at 13-over par (76-81-157) and Evan Macias is in 97th at 21-over par (84-81-165).
