The UTEP Graduate School will host its Graduate Student Research Expo on Friday, Nov. 13. It is open to the public.
The expo is a mini-conference for UTEP graduate students. Students applied to present their research and chose to present in either a panel (oral) or poster presentation. This year 126 graduate students will participate in the event.
The event will showcase the skills and innovation of UTEP graduate students. This expo allows the students to further develop their professional skills as they practice communicating their research. Faculty members evaluate each presentation and prizes will be given to the top three panel and poster presentations.
Laura O’Dell, Ph.D., associate professor of psychology, will give the keynote address at a closed luncheon for faculty mentors, volunteers and expo presenters. Media also are welcome to attend. O’Dell received her Ph.D. in behavioralneuroscience from Arizona State University, and she will provide insight into what propels students toward success in graduate school.
