UTEP Men’s Golf completes William H. Tucker on Saturday Afternoon

The UTEP men’s golf team finished 12th out of 18 teams, shooting 29-over par, 893 (291, 301, 301), while Marcus Khaw shot 2-over par, 218 (72, 71, 75) to pace the Miners at the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate at The Championship Course at the University of New Mexico (par 72, 7555 yards) on Saturday afternoon.

Khaw finished tied for 19th out of 100 competitors. Greg Holmes (225), Remy Miller (226), Greg Yellin (228) and Jacob Presutti (230) rounded the finishers for the Miners.

Khaw led the field with 42 pars, and Holmes led the Miners with 10 birdies. Miller shot 4-under par on par 5 holes.

UTEP shot 17-under par on par 5 holes.

BYU dominated the field, winning the weekend at 23-under par, 841 (285, 270, 286). Host New Mexico placed second at 4-under par, 860. NM State’s Aidan Thomas on the individual title, penciling 9-under par, 207 (67, 66, 74).

Up next,  the Miners will have a quick turnaround and take the links in Boulder, Co., at the Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational on Sept. 27-28.
