UTEP (287-298-299—884) finished in ninth place at the 2022 Men’s Golf Conference USA Championship at Texarkana Country Club (par 72 – 6,969 yards) in Texarkana, Ark., on Wednesday afternoon.
Greg Yellin (72-71-74—217) finished tied 13th overall and was the top Miner. Danny Daniels (70-71-78—219) finished tied 22nd. Jacob Presutti (74-78-70—222) moved up 14 spots to finish tied 33rd after firing a 70 on Wednesday. Marcus Khaw (71-78-80—229) and Greg Holmes (75-79-77—231) rounded out the order of finish for UTEP.
Florida Atlantic (281-286-292—859), Southern Miss (286-285-289—860), UTSA (285, 292, 291—868) and no. 28 Charlotte (294-288-288—870) will advance to Thursday’s match play to determine the 2022 C-USA champion. The 49ers, after shooting even par today, moved up a spot to finish fourth.
Middle Tennessee’s Michael Barnard (70-70-70—210) shot 2-under par 70 on Wednesday, and moved up three spots to capture the individual title. Barnard finished 6-under par 210 overall. Florida Atlantic’s Max Sturdza (68-70-73—211) shot 5-under par 211 to finish in second place, and UTSA’s Michael Rome (69-71-72—212) placed third.
UTEP led the field with 179 pars.
