UTEP Men’s Golf Heads to National Invitational Tournament Monday

The UTEP men’s golf team will make its second trip to the state of Arizona when it competes in the National Invitational Tournament at the Omni Tucson National Golf Course in Tucson, Ariz. Round one will begin at 8 a.m. MST on Monday with round two immediately following. The final 18 holes will be played at 8 a.m. MST on Tuesday.

The No. 50 Miners tied for third in last year’s N.I.T. at 11-under par 853 (291-284-278) with Wyoming (282-291-280-853). Santa Clara took home the team title at 18-under par (846). Frederik Dreier and Charles Corner led the charge for the Miners, both finishing in the top ten.

Fresh off finishing in a ninth-place tie with New Mexico at the John A. Burns Intercollegiate last week, the Miners will return to action with Dreier, Andreas Sorensen, Nicklas Pihl, Aaron Terrazas and Corner.
UTEP will be competing against Arizona, No. 28 Arizona State, No. 42 BYU, Colorado State, No. 49 Iowa State, Nevada, New Mexico State, Notre Dame, Princeton, San Fransisco, San Jose State, Santa Clara, No. 17 UNLV, Utah and Wyoming.
