Ambrosius birdied the hole to claim his first collegiate victory. Ambrosius has competed in all 11 tournaments this season and has fashioned a 72.7 stroke average, second behind Terrazas’s 71.1.
The Western Intercollegiate, one of the premier events on the spring golf calendar, will be the final regular season event for the 13-team field prior to the start of conference championships. The individual medalist at the Western Intercollegiate receives the coveted blue jacket, honoring legendary Pasatiempo Golf Club course designer Alister MacKenzie, also the designer of Augusta National Golf Club.
UTEP will compete at the 2019 Conference USA Championship at Texarkana Country Club in Texarkana, Arkansas, April 22-25.
