The UTEP Men’s Golf team will continue the spring season this week as the Miners compete in the Louisiana Classics, while the Miner Women’s team is set to compete in the HBU Husky Invitational, which is hosted by Houston Baptist and will take place on March 15-16
The men will compete among a 14-team field beginning March 15 in Lafayette, Louisiana. The two-day, 54-hole event is being held at the par-72, 6,866-yard course at Oakbourne Country Club. Participating teams will play 36 holes on Monday beginning with a 7 a.m. (MT) shotgun start, while Tuesday’s final round of 18 holes (starting from holes 1 & 10) will begin at 6:30 a.m. (MT).
The final round on Tuesday will be available for viewers on ESPN+ (subscribers) with coverage starting at 8:30 a.m. (MT).
A few hundred miles west, women will compete among an 11-team field beginning March 15 in Sugar Land, Texas. The two-day, 54-hole event is being held at the par-72, 6,084-yard course at Riverbend Country Club. Participating teams will play 36 holes on Monday before wrapping up the event with 18 holes on Tuesday.
Five golfers are set to tee off at 7:30 a.m. MT on Monday, while the final round will be a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m. MT.
For the Miners men, they’ll be one of 14 teams competing in this year’s Louisiana Classics, along with UL-Lafayette, No. 4 Illinois, No. 45 North Texas, Illinois State, Kansas City, ULM, McNeese, Michigan, Oral Roberts, Rice, Sam Houston State, Southern Illinois and Texas State.
