The UTEP Rifle team shot an aggregate of 4558, trailing behind Nebraska (4695) in its first home match of the fall season Saturday.
The Miners posted a 2255 in smallbore and a 2303 in air rifle.
“First matches are the most stressful,” head coach Austin Litherland said. “You want to start the season strong and show what you have been doing in practice. Every match is a learning experience and we will take this one and make the next one better.”
Amoret McCartney led the team with an aggregate 1146 while Jennifer Windle ranked second on the squad with 1145.
Three Miners achieved 10.9 shots: Isabel Brooks, Morgahn Warner, and Jonna Warnken. Warnken posted two 10.9 shots.
