UTEP rifle placed third in its triangular match behind No. 1 TCU and No. 7 Air Force, posting an aggregate 4548 Sunday afternoon at the Air Force Academy, just outside of Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Redshirt freshman Isabel Brooks was the standout Miner of the day in the second match of her career as she led the team in both disciplines with career-highs in smallbore (564) and air rifle (580) and an aggregate 1144.
Redshirt sophomore Jennifer Windle had another impressive showing after leading the Miners in their last match on Friday against TCU. Windle fired an aggregate 1140 with a 561 smallbore and 579 air rifle.
Senior Samantha Miller was the third UTEP finisher, posting an aggregate 1137 (558 smallbore, 579 air rifle).
Next up, UTEP Rifle Head Coach Austin Litherland is taking his squad to Akron, Ohio, to take on the Zips on Feb. 5. Litherland was last at Akron as a rifle athlete where he competed collegiately until 2012.
